Your Podiatrist Visit: What To Expect
Going to visit the podiatrist for the first time can be an intimidating prospect for many people. While many of us visit a general physician at least once a year, a podiatrist visit is much more seldom. Thus, the first visit can be a nerve-wracking one. Fortunately – visiting a podiatrist doesn’t have to be petrifying. While experiences vary for each person, the basic formula is the same. When you’re visiting the podiatrist remember that they’re just like any other doctor. They care about you and your health, they’re very knowledgeable, and a good podiatrist is always ready and willing to answer your questions. Don’t be intimidated – anything you don’t want doesn’t happen, just the same as any other doctor’s office. If, for example, the podiatrist thinks an inpatient surgery for an ingrown nail is the best option, and you disagree, you have the right to request alternative methods.
